Phimega Group Post #42
Sony send mains power through thin air

From Russell McMahon of piclist:
Sony announce a "new" method to transfer power to appliances and for charging over useful distances. http://www.photoclubalpha.com/2009/10/02/sony-send-mains-power-through-thin-air/ I saw something essentially the same as this done 35 years ago at Auckland University. Many of the more recent inductive power transfer patents seem to have somehow not heard of this and similar work done 'all over'. Nor of Tesla. Even I had a patent in my name in this area quite some years ago. And a friend produced commercial systems which charged electric vehicle power packs 'from a distance'. I still have a 100 metre loop around my house which was used for power transfer demonstrations. While Sony MAY have done something new in some engineering aspects, the ground appears to have been already very well covered, -- soliton ------------------------------------ Diskusi di : http://forum.phimega.com http://yahoogroups.com/groups/mikropop ------------------------------------ Yahoo!
